Wearing a veil is what turns a woman in a white dress into a beautiful bride. Lace wedding veils are delicate and stunning final pieces to finish the perfect look and feel for your special day, and making sure you wear your veil correctly is important.
When should I put on my veil?
Although tempting to wear your veil when you get into your dress, making sure you don’t put your veil on too early, reduces the risk of damage and makes sure the veil doesn’t get in the way of your make up artist and hair stylist. Make sure your veil stays hanging straight while not worn, ideally hung. When your make up is complete and hair dresser is finished, and your almost ready to leave, this is the perfect time to put your wedding veil in place.
How to secure your veil
While using a comb attached to the veil helps to keep your wedding veil secure, it’s possible it can be blown away mid-ceremony. Once the veil is in place, get yourself a number of hair colour matching bobby pins, and gently push the pins to secure the veil to your hair, making sure the pins remain hidden within the hair. You should only need 1 or 2 pins on each side to create a secure hold.
Removing your veil
Removing your veil if just as important as putting it on. Making sure you remove your veil correctly is the best way to make sure you can keep your veil in perfect condition for all of time. You could ask your hair stylist if they happy to remove this for you, or if they could maybe show a friend or bridesmaid to correctly remove your wedding veil.
Removing your wedding veil is very much the reverse of putting it on, firstly remove the bobby pins you used to secure the comb to your hair, then remove the comb, tilting the comb away from your head, keep pulling away until all the teeth are pulled out, the hair veil comb will be at a 90 degree angle to the back of your head.
